Take Part in Domestika Scholarships and Turn Your Creative Passion Into Your Future

You have until April 12 to register your portfolio and be in with a chance of winning 50 courses of your choosing

On March 9, 2021, Domestika launched its 3rd edition of Domestika Scholarships, intending to share knowledge with the creative community.

Domestika Scholarships was conceived to promote learning across different creative disciplines. This year’s participants are in with the chance of winning 10 scholarships, each offering up 50 courses of each winner’s choosing. That’s a total of 500 online courses for anyone who would like to participate that is over 16 years old: it doesn’t matter where you live or what your educational or professional background is.

Domestika is committed to learning. To take a course, there are no limits regarding age, geographical location, time zone, or experience. Domestika brings together some of the most prominent professionals in the creative sector and showcases what they do best. All of our courses are for everyone.

Past winners’ experience

20 members of the community have each already won 50 free courses after participating in the first two editions of Domestika Scholarships in 2017 and 2018. Those call-out attracted thousands of creatives from all over the world working across disciplines such as illustration, design, photography, animation, and 3D design. We caught up with a selection of winners to discover how winning a scholarship impacted their career and why they encourage you to follow in their footsteps.

Alejandro Olmedo (@hollmed) is a 3D graphic designer who won one of the scholarships in 2017. He insists that "the scholarships are a unique opportunity to learn and train. It allows you to discover design specialties you didn't even know existed, expand your knowledge, and make contact with other professionals. What do you have to lose? You have got to sign up for it!".

Designer and data visualization specialist Diana Estefanía Rubio (@diana_estefaniarubio) won in 2018. Since then, she has gone from being a Domestika student to a Domestika teacher, having just released her course, Data Visualization for Editorial Projects. "Creating this course has been one of the best experiences I've had as a professional. It is an honor to be able to make this leap from student to teacher within the platform," she says.

Like her, designer Serafim Mendes(@serafimmendes) believes that creatives "should apply if they want to improve their knowledge and technical/creative skills, or maybe they just feel like learning something completely new and different."

Like them, there's still time to submit your portfolio and share your projects. Here's everything you need to know about this year's #DomestikaScholarships.

How to participate in Domestika Scholarships?

To participate in the competition, you simply need to be registered on Domestika, have completed your profile (include a profile picture and tell us a bit about yourself), and have published at least three projects.

Tip: For your profile and projects to stand out in front of the judges, make sure you select the work you’re most proud of and include images of both the final piece and the creative process.

Where to upload the projects?

In your profile, go to the Portfolio tab and click on "Add new project.” Write the title of your project and upload up to 15 images per project (maximum size 10 MB each). Once you have at least 3 projects in your profile, you are eligible to participate.

Remember that only the first three projects that appear in your portfolio list will be evaluated. If you have more than three, you can sort them as you wish by dragging them.
