Top 10 Creative Projects of March 2021

We put together the projects that received the most likes in March within the Domestika community

We kick off the new month by introducing you to the 10 favorite community projects for March. Final projects of courses from different disciplines, teachers' works and commissions are mixed in this space open to creativity. All of them different but with something in common: they are the projects that have received the most likes.

In March, watercolor has had a lot of prominence, but also crochet and illustration. Nature has been one of the most inspiring themes and has also been the highlighted theme in other disciplines, such as packaging. And as for digital arts, a work done with the SketchUp design program stands out.

To check their creative processes, click on the red titles. Don't forget to add your comment at the end of the article and let us know your favorite.

Watercolour love birds, by Sarah Stokes (@sarah_stokes)

This self-taught artist turns her passion for art and nature into unique watercolor compositions. Inspired by the environment in which she lives, the Worcestershire countryside (UK), she uses modern methods of watercolor painting to illustrate moments of wildlife, such as this emotional action on a branch.

You can learn with Sarah in her course Artistic Watercolor Techniques for Illustrating Birds.

Up to 12 watercolors are those shared with the community by the illustrator and plastic artist Daniel "Pito" Campos. Watercolour mouse...tonal exercise, by Sarah Stokes (@sarah_stokes)

The same artist from the love story between birds shows another of her illustrations. This time, with a mouse as the protagonist. With this watercolor she wants to reflect the importance of tonal value, that is, how light or dark a piece can be.

In her course, Artistic Watercolor Techniques for Illustrating Birds, she teaches you more about tonal values and explains how to create a specific tool to work on this concept.

Top-down is a crochet technique that creates seamless garments. Here you can see the end result of what Belén has learned in the course Top-Down: One-Piece Crocheted Garments.

Pastel y lápiz, by Elena Pancorbo (@elena_pancorbo)

The illustrator shares the result of the method she teaches in her course Illustration with Pastel and Coloured Pencils. Focusing on the female portrait, her abilities to highlight beauty in her sensitivity and emotion have led her to work for publishers such as Planeta, Penguin Random House or Anaya.

In this work, she defines the tones with the pastel and works the lights and shadows. With her pencil, she outlines the parts of her face and gives depth. Do you dare to follow in her footsteps?

Mirada del paisaje natural, by Daniel "Pito" Campos (@danieldibujador)

To paint you also have to know how to look and this exercise is a good example of this. This is another small sample of the watercolors that Daniel "Pito" Campos has shared with the community.

Only with brushes and colored spots, the author explores all the possibilities of this technique. Something that you can also do in his course Natural Landscapes in Watercolor.
