Looking for the best tools to create stunning mood boards? Check out our list of essential tools that will help you bring your creative vision to life!
Designers, artists and common folk alike use moodboards to communicate their aesthetic ideas. In this article you will discover the most used tools by all walks of life, for this very purpose.
If this sounds Niice wait and see how a good Gomoodboard can also be used to establish the aesthetic of your dream Adobe Express house and even the kind of Canva or Mural you envision inside it... And yes, we'll also cover Pinterest, but I didn't see a way to add it into the sentence...!
Let’s take a look at some tools that can help you get the most out of the mood-boarding process!
1. Adobe Express

You might be inclined to loathe Adobe... And I don't blame you! But this online tool is so simple that it would be ridiculous if it crushed... I mean, you don't need to render a mood board for 3 hours, do you...? I certainly, hope not!
This is how Adobe defines the application: "Adobe Express puts the power of creation in your hands..." This sounds cool, I can already feel the divine power circulating through my veins! "You can change the size of text, move it around the page, add special effects filters, make elements transparent, and change border settings." Oh that's what they meant by "the power of creation"... At least it's free!

2. Gomoodboard

It looks like they wanted to name their company simply "Moodboard" originally, but the domain was already taken so they had to add the "Go"... "MoodboardEats" could've worked as well!
GoMoodboard is one of the easiest online tools to use, though! You don't even need to create an account to get started and you can choose between a wide range of premade templates. GoMoodboard seems to be one of the preferred tools in the world of graphic design and other artistic disciplines. It's also free!

3. Canva

This might be the most used moodboard online tool by non graphic designers. It is free but it also offers a paying option "Canva Pro"... So you can feel like a professional even if your not being payed... You are the one paying rather...! It includes more templates, illustrations and designs to the free catalogue. You can also make your designs public for people to use and viceversa.
Canva also offers logo design templates, video and photo editing, business cards, t-shirts, mugs and so on. A good tool if you'd like to have all the design made for you! Graphic designers had their days numbered before AI existed...

4. Niice

Niice has a very intuitive interface where you can drag and drop images. What stands out about this application is its Chrome extension: users can take and save images while browsing the web. This online platform is a great source of inspiration and a way to organize visual elements in an attractive way.
At this point they are all pretty much the same... I mean, if you use Chrome sure, this might be the best option, but aside from that minor detail it doesn't offer much more... Just choose one already, I don't have all day...!

I know I wrote Canva might be the most used moodboard online tool by non graphic designers... Well, I was wrong, this is the one!
Pinterest is a special tool, because it's users make moodboards just for fun most of the time... There is no need to have a project in mind, you can scroll endlessly on here and find "aesthetic" and "cute" images, illustrations, breakfast ideas, home decor ideas, your dream house in the mountains you'll never be able to afford, recipes, home remedies, plant arrangements on floating baskets, avocados for skin care, avocado shells and seeds as ornaments, floating avocados, avocados with kawaii faces, recycled DIY gifts, recycled paper, recycled paper made out of recycled avocados, recycled humans, recycled human ears ornaments, and most of all... Recycled ideas...!
You know where to find Pinterest...!
Mural

With this online tool you can connect your teams in shared spaces to spur new ideas and better conversations (or worst depending on the people you are hanging out with...). You can also align distributed teams to make decisions quickly and keep the ball rolling... It might sound nice but Niice does the same too... And all the rest as well...!
Mural is also compliant with GDPR and CCPA regulations to keep your data and employees secure. They were both created under the supervision of the CIA, though...! I know because I'm an agent myself... It's not so difficult to enter, you only need a certain amount of followers on Instagram, like for any other job, nowadays!
Now that you know the moodboard tools that exist online, and you learnt that you can easily join the CIA, you might think your life is all taken care of... What else could be improved, now?
