“ Basic Weaving Techniques In this lesson, I'll show you some basic weaving techniques that you can use for any type of weaving. I'll start by showing you how to weave a starting line. A starting line is what I like to call the first line that I weave across my warp strings. The technical term for this technique is called twining. I find it's easier to refer to it as the starting line and the finishing line in a weaving. To do that, you will grab a needle and a length of yarn that's about this long.
