I'll also talk a bit about how to set yourself up for a great calligraphy practice. I don't do anything fancy with the tools. I'm very strict about cleaning the nibs thoroughly. Whenever I'm finished or if I'm taking a longer break, I'll rinse the nib off in the sink and I'll get a toothbrush that I use to scrub it clean.
