“ Techniques for Painting Nature Now that our paint is dry, we can begin with a second layer. I'll mix a darker color by taking the Permanent Green we already have here and adding a little bit of spectrum violet. I love this color, and even though I'm using mostly Holbein paints, I love this enough to put it in my set. I don't mind mixing different brands together. Now, we have our darker color mixed up. I'll start adding some shadows here. I'm trying to imagine, when I'm painting these shapes, that these shadows are created by space in between the leaves that's going into the distance a bi...”
