The composition can seem a little boring compared to color, texture, and details, but it's important for making a successful painting. This must be done well for all else to work. It is the structure and foundation of your painting. There are many ways to make a good composition. I find the easiest guide is to use a Rule of Thirds grid when setting up my composition. Generally, in landscape painting, it works well to keep your horizon line either on the top third of the grid or the bottom third. ...”
