Madeleine Bellwoar is an independent artist based in the Netherlands. Her work explores the beauty of the natural world through color, light, and texture. She is often in the forest sketching or taking photos and finding inspiration for her next painting. She mainly works with gouache and digital mediums, though she also enjoy watercolor and Ink.
As both a traditional and digital painter, Madeleine has been exploring ways to bring these mediums together through the creation of custom digital brush sets, which use real, traditional brushstrokes and textures. She is passionate about sharing knowledge and has been livestreaming her art process as a featured streamer on Behance and Twitch for the past five years Madeleine has also worked on assets and background painting for Ddraig House Game studio and collaborated with companies such as Wacom, Adobe, Behance, ArtStation, and Amazon Games.

Good verbal delivery and techniques, bad filming.
Struggled to understand how she simplified shapes, without reference shown beside painting.
Head/hand would sometimes cover the fine details she worked on, when it was already 5% of the screen. Camera showed a lot of empty table space, canvas she worked on was very small, occupying about 20% of the screen. Had to use larger monitor so I could see a little better.
The camera cuts to her face too much, should have zoomed in on her work.

I really enjoyed watching this online course. Can't wait to see it again but this time paint along with Maddy. I am also excited to try some more gouache online courses that Domestika are offering, it certainly has got my creative side going.

Maddy's course is excellent. I am a beginner (@1 year). I have always had trouble with layering. Her descriptions and hints are wonderful. I have taken other classes on other sites, but this course is by far outstanding. Her use of angled flat brushes is a good idea and will purchase some. Her advice on layering light over dark is also a great idea. Happy I took this class. Too many suggests that she made to list.

I loved this course. I've been a fan of Maddy's for such a long time so seeing the breakdown of the entire painting process was amazing. I learned a ton and got incredibly excited about gouache. Dabbling into it without much experience so everything Maddy shared here was super helpful.
An incredibly well-thought-out course, packed with great tips, and a fab teacher. Highly recommend it! The only thing I wish is that it was longer. :)
