“ Shape In the last lesson, we learned about gestures. In this lesson, we'll discuss shape and contour. The shape is comprised of simple lines that create a contour around the outside of the figure. We can then use this simple outside shape as a basis to create a more complex drawing by adding overlapping lines and internal context. We'll start by looking at the gesture of the figure. She's got a fairly upright pose so the gesture line will be fairly straight but because most of her weight is placed on one foot, I'll have a slightly curved line.
