“In this lesson we're going to put 200 years of history onto this door. We're going to do it quite rapidly. The first thing to do is start off with our base colour and for the base colour of this door I'm going to use Raw Sienna. A similar colour to Yellow Ochre. But there's a difference. Because we're using the pure watercolour technique, we're working light to dark. Raw Sienna is more of a transparent colour. Yellow Ochre is more opaque. There will be moments in this painting, quite a few moments, when we will use Yellow Ochre when we're trying to put body into our painting. I should also ...”
