As a reminder, I have summarised the main steps you should take to complete your project: The Subject Search for subjects you find interesting and ask yourself what is their story and how could you capture it. Then, choose the subject you want to paint.

The Drawing Transfer your subject to the watercolour paper. Use a B or 2B pencil. Apply masking fluid to preserve whites. Important: let the masking fluid dry completely before you begin to paint. The First Washes Apply your first washes. Important: let each wash dry thoroughly before overpainting. Combine some of the techniques learnt to create texture and a dramatic effect. The Details Refine the details in your painting. Add more washes as necessary to step down the tonal values, suggest the illusion of perspective, and create an atmosphere. The End Game Remove masking and glaze over some of the whites if necessary. Find your own end game and complete your painting. Don't forget to upload your finished painting to the forum!
