3D Design: Creation of a Surreal Skateboard Sculpture
“You have reached the end of this course, and I would like to thank you for participating. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it, and now you understand how to combine different software to create photorealistic renderings from modeling to post-production. Let me remind you of the most critical steps you have to take to create a realistic still image of a surreal skateboard sculpture in 3D. So, first of all, set up the scene by applying blueprints to planar geometry, and then model all the skateboard components based on these images once you have them deform the skateboard with path deform. Next, UV unwraps all the parts you have modeled and starts working on textures in Substance using images and a procedural approach. Place the skateboard in front of the camera and try to create an exciting composition. Then, apply textures to the materials and set the lights. Afterward, set up render elements and hit the render button. Finally, load all the rendering elements into Photoshop to composite them. Then, retouch and edit the lighting, textures, and reflections, and finally, add the final color correction to the entire image.

“So, we have reached the end of this course and I would like to say thank you for participating. I hope you enjoyed it and now have a good understanding on how to combine different softwares to create a photorealistic render. I want to do a quick recap of the process to see what you've learned. First we set up the scene and apply blueprints into planar geometry. Don't forget to adjust the scale of the reference when you model. We then model different skateboard components. The best way to learn modeling is to define the topology on your own, so make sure to experiment until you get a right s...”
