“ Proportions In this lesson, we'll use an object and a photograph to learn how to draw in proportion. Here I have a crow’s skull, which is very light and a bit delicate. We will look at how to draw this in proportions. It's quite dirty, but sometimes the dirt is handy for figuring out where things go. The biggest mistake people make when they draw things in proportion is they try and draw the outline. That is where it can go horribly wrong. You want to look at the shapes that are in it, the negative space around it, and where things are in proximity. Proximity will be the key in this lesso...”

She has worked as an artist for 14 years, has had her work exhibited internationally, and has collaborated with international animal charity organizations. Amy is a practice-based Ph.D. student at the School of Arts and Culture, Newcastle University, and has a master’s from Edinburgh College of Art. She also works as a senior academic at MIMA School of Art and Design at Teesside University.
Amy has recently been creating work on the human impact on endangered species and the sixth mass extinction, hoping to raise this as a critical concern. In addition to her activism and academia, she also works as a commercial illustrator in design, advertising, and publishing.
