Materials don't have to be complex, and my approach to them is minimalist. Let me show you how I achieve this. Before we go into this, let's think about the materials we need. On the floor, I want a tiled effect, so it's akin to a swimming pool. On the ceiling, if we look at our reference here, I'd like to recreate this effect with the individual sheets of metal, create some nice reflections.
