“ Traditional Inks: Technique Here is a character design I did for the graphic novel "Messenger: The Legend of Joan of Arc." I'll work on it for our first practical class on inking. But before I do, let's do some basic inking exercises, practising control of our instruments with straight lines and circles. A regular piece of paper will do. I have to repeat the movements from left to right, top to bottom, and vice versa. My tip here is not to look at your instrument but look at the point on the paper towards where you want to go.
