About the final project for: Inking for Comic Books: Traditional and Digital Techniques

Inking for Comic Books: Traditional and Digital Techniques

“Here we are, at the end of the course, and I’d like to thank you for your time and dedication. I hope it was useful and can help you achieve your artistic goals. Before I say goodbye, here are all the steps you have to take to complete your final project: Choose the pencil page you want to ink.

Begin with traditional inks, focusing on differentiating planes, areas of light and shadow, and important elements.
Next work with watercolours or ink wash, working with layers of ink from light to dark, taking care not to overload the paper with too much water.
Scan your page at 600dpi and touch up areas of dirt and contrast. Use three layers, one for inks, one for watercolours, and one for digital inks. Unify and finish your page by completing lines and using textures, splatters, and layer effects.
Publish your final project here, showing me all these steps. I will comment on your work whenever possible. Also, check out the forum and see what the other students have been working on, and you’re welcome to comment on their work, just as they can comment on yours. Post your finished page also on your social networks using #SamHartDomestika. See you! ”
