“Sizing and Cutting the Base Now, we can define the size of our project. We already have our wood and a drawing of our automaton. I chose to use repurposed wood for this project and we’ll try to see how it fits our drawing. By doing that, you reduce the amount of wasted material. We can use the width of the wood and only cut the length for the sides of our base. This doesn't mean you’ll need any measuring tools. You’ll just need a ruler or a set square and calipers.
