Infrared Photography: Capture the World of the Invisible

“We have arrived at the last part of this Domestika course! Thanks for taking my lessons. I hope you enjoyed the course! Our course has come to an end but I hope this is just the beginning of your journey for you. Before starting your project, check your equipment. Make sure you have infrared filters with you to mount on the right lenses, a cloth to keep the equipment always clean and a tripod if you have an unmodified camera. For the course design, you will need to make three images using any of the infrared photography techniques you learned in this course. Whether you are in the city, in the countryside or in the mountains, I suggest you go to a green area and try to take three types of shots. If you are in the city, go to a park and pay attention to the buildings around you. They could create interesting contrasts in your shots! Before shooting, be sure to set the RAW format and custom white balance to better understand how infrared colors will react. After each shot, remember to always check that the focus is correct and that no unpleasant halos or Hot Spots have formed inside your image. Finally, dedicate yourself to post-production and unleash your creativity to create images with dreamlike and surreal colors!

When your project is ready, share it on the forum! In this way, not only will I be able to give you my feedback, but you will be able to compare yourself with all the other students. Sharing is the best way to learn. Thanks again for choosing this course and good luck with all your projects!”

It is precisely by focusing on the things that are most familiar to you that you will fall in love with this technique. What you need to forget with infrared photography it is the fear of making mistakes. At first you will j...”
