About the final project for: Intarsia Knitwear Design and Creation

Intarsia Knitwear Design and Creation

“You have reached the end of this course, thanks for joining me in this adventure. I hope you have found this course amazing and useful. After everything you have learned with this course, you are now ready to create your own sweater knitted with the intarsia technique. Let me show you an example of what I would like to see in your final project: First Steps Take a look at your material and think about the colors you want to use for your project. You can play with them to create contrast or to make something crazy. Once you have selected your colors, take some crayons and make as many sketches as you need until you find the right one.

The Diagram Convert your sketch into a diagram, so you can start knitting your sweater.
The Sample Make sure to have the gauge right, knit a nice big sample, and measure it in several places.
Start Knitting Find a comfortable place to sit, with good light, and start knitting, start with the front and back piece. Knit the shoulders together or sew the sides. Pick up stitches for the sleeves and knit them. Pick up stitches for the neck, knit it, and cast off, make sure not to tighten too much.
Personalize Your Sweater Make your sweater look even nicer by trimming it! Weave in the ends, and steam it. Personalize it by adding embroidered details.
Don't forget, a mistake is always a chance to learn. Remember, it’s a matter of practice. Try not to be too critical with yourself, this is supposed to be fun. Enjoy the process! Don’t be afraid to play with colors or to personalize your sweater. Let your imagination take the lead! I can’t wait to see your sweater! Please, do not forget to share your final project, by clicking here above on "Create Your Project". When you upload it, the Domestika community and I will be able to give you feedback. If you also want to share it on your social media, please use the hashtag #LauraDalgaardDomestika that way I can see your posts. Once again, thank you for being here! See you soon. ”

“Final Project Congratulations. You've reached the end of this Domestika course. Thank you very much for following this course. I hope it's been useful. It's time for you to knit your garment. Before that, I would like to share some tips that could be useful for your final project. First, take your time to choose the right size and make swatches to measure your gauge. Remember to check your gauge. It would be a shame to end up with a garment that doesn't fit. Don't be too critical of yourself. This is supposed to be fun. Find your favorite colors and combine them using the color contrast tec...”
