About the final project for: Furniture Making with 3D Printing and Wood
3D Modeling and Printing Techniques for Furniture Design
“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this Domestika course. Thanks for signing up. Before we say goodbye, I'd like to recap what we've covered to best prepare you for the final project. The first step in design comes from a strong desire to create; a need that wants satisfying. The best place to start is by gathering inspiration. Sketch out some ideas and play around with the proportions using full-scale mock-ups. Refer to these later to create a detailed drawing of your furniture. When you have a good idea of what you want to make, the next step is to turn that into a 3D model. I recommend starting by modeling a few test parts. This will enable you to find the right fit between all the different materials before committing to the final parts. Once you have your 3D model ready, import them into the slicer and print them out. Remember that the different settings like layer height, perimeters, and infill will impart the time it takes to print, as well as the strength and quality of the final parts.

“Final project Well done for reaching the end of this Domestika course. I hope you learned a lot from the steps that we've gone through to get to this point. We've learned how to create a modular shelving unit using wood, round stock and 3D printing joints. Before I leave, I'd like to do a quick recap of all the steps that we went through to make our final project. First off, I've introduced you to what 3D printing is. I've showed you the different ways to get 3D models. I've told you that you can either create them yourself or that you can download them from different places on the internet...”
