Creative Thinking 101: Generate Groundbreaking Ideas

“We have now reached the end of the course! Well done and a massive pat on the back. You’ve achieved so much! By following along, you have learned a clear and playful process of creative thinking that you can apply to just about any brief or problem. In the spirit of this course, I would like for you to be imaginative when it comes to your final project. Be bold and experimental to show me your own unique pitches. You can work with my Neuromotion brief or you can choose your own brief. Whatever the case, remember to have fun! Remember the key steps I shared, first off: Get prepared! Inspiration fuels ideas, so gather your references and materials. Don't forget to do some warm-up exercises as well. They will put you in a positive and playful frame of mind. Spend time on your brief and distill it down into a single line: This will be your one-liner. Remember to always have another one-liner as a backup! Next, it's time to look for as many ideas as possible without overthinking. The key here is to write down your ideas as fast as possible.

Practice making mental connections to create even more ideas. You can do this by connecting your one-liner to famous brands or other inspirations. Once you’ve grown your ideas into an impressive collection, it's time for some tough love: Gather the very best of your launch ideas, your one-liner at the centre. Which ideas would you try to save if there was a sudden fire? Take your time to refine those ideas so you have a final name, look, and feel that you are really happy with. Two to three ideas are usually enough.
Then simplify, magnify, and beautify your ideas. I can’t stress enough how important and crucial a stage in the process this is. It's really about turning good ideas into great ideas!
Next, organise everything into a short and simple story using a Who, Why, What, and How. This structure will help you to share your ideas in a clear and engaging way.
Choose how you want to make your pitch. You can talk directly to the camera, create a series of slides or visuals that you talk over, or even prepare a short animation with a voice-over or caption. After doing an all-important rehearsal to be ready, make your pitch in two minutes or less. Getting your project pitch ready is all about refining those details, preparing your story, and rehearsing your pitch to sell! One last piece of advice: Should you ever get stuck, remember to step away from the problem. Go for a bike ride or a long walk, do something stupid or even bolder―opt to let go and redo the whole process with another one-liner. Again, thank you for choosing this course! It's been my pleasure to share my skills and experience with you in the pursuit of brilliant ideas. Don’t forget to share your achievements in the forum and give feedback to other members of the community. You'll learn so much from others! Of course, I will be there as well with feedback and advice if needed. Don't worry if I don't answer immediately―I promise that I'll come back to you as soon as I can. See you in the forum!”
