About the video: Planning Dismantling and Networking

Overview

“One of the most important aspects of planning dismantling is to decide what is going to be the purpose of the different elements that compose your pavilion when it is dismantled. In this lesson, we will explore several strategies on how short-lived structures can benefit from planning repurpose. We will call the first one the "modular multiple cycle strategy": secondary materials are organized in the design in a way that facilitates multiple lives before final disposal. A second option, which we call "design for disassembly", would try to keep the original use of a maximum of components. The third one is the use of biomaterials to create biomass. This way, even if the materials cannot be reused, landfill is avoided.”

In this video lesson Izaskun Chinchilla Moreno addresses the topic: Planning Dismantling and Networking, which is part of the Domestika online course: Eco-Friendly Pop-up Architecture. Learn to design small scale installations from scratch by exploring the principles of circular economy.
