“ Practicing Stitches Our next stitch is the long and short stitch. I use this one a lot. I'll show you how I do it. You can use six strands, but I don't recommend it for this stitch. It's usually better to use one or two strands to have this nice satin effect. I’ll take enough length of my thread. I'll show you with two strands. On the next ones, you can try one and two together.
