“Color Study with a Limited Palette Now I'll do a quick study with a simplified palette. It's a study that I don't do often, but I really like to use it when I'm not feeling very sure about the colors I'll use for the final painting. Here we have our reference image, and I prepared one more drawing to do this exercise. Looking at the reference here, I see that I have browns on the skin, and the shadows are a bit more saturated and magenta. I normally use burnt sienna as a base for almost every skin tone, and I'll add this pink to make the mixture a little warmer. In some areas, I'll use more...”
