The reason why I use the Pencil tool and I don't use the Image Trace tool is because I want each one of these shapes to be converted into a path. If I had used the Image Trace tool, it would only convert what is in black. which means that the lines would be converted into a shape and later if I wanted to put a field color to this, I wouldn't be able to do it.
