“Finding your Inspiration In this lesson, I'll be teaching you about finding your inspiration. Now, I can't tell you how to find your inspiration, but I can give you ways to find it. Since we live in a really oversaturated world, it might be overwhelming to find an image that will inspire you. Sometimes it's really hard to keep track of it. One way I like to find inspiration is using museum databases. They're great, they're free and they're accessible to all. One museum database I like to use is the Rijksmuseum. Julie Benbassat is an illustrator and self-confessed avid doodler who specializes in creating illustrations for editorial and publishing clients. She has been drawing since she was old enough to hold a pencil and, after being encouraged by her art teacher to pursue a career in illustration, eventually went on to study for a BFA in the art form at the Rhode Island School of Design. There, she discovered the storytelling properties of illustration which are integral to her work today.
Julie combines traditional and digital illustration methods to create captivating artwork for clients including The New York Times, NPR, PLANSPONSOR, BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network.
