“Influences In this lesson, I'll talk about people who've inspired me and continue to influence my artistic career. The first person I'll talk about is Leonardo da Vinci. He's a bit famous, but I'll tell you why I like him. I like da Vinci because he's a very good technician, but also a genuinely curious person. People think that to be an artist you only need to know how to draw but often you have to keep drawing, practicing, and love what you're doing. As Leonardo was quite curious, he did several sketches. She has been drawing since she was old enough to hold a pencil and, after being encouraged by her art teacher to pursue a career in illustration, eventually went on to study for a BFA in the art form at the Rhode Island School of Design. There, she discovered the storytelling properties of illustration which are integral to her work today.
