“About Me Hi, my name is Julie Benbassat. I'm a freelance illustrator and avid doodler from New Jersey. Ever since I was a little kid, I loved drawing. I read books filled with illustrations, read Manga, still read Manga, and watch a lot of cartoons. As a child I had fun looking through my parents' Audubon books and National Geographic's "Zoobooks". Julie Benbassat is an illustrator and self-confessed avid doodler who specializes in creating illustrations for editorial and publishing clients. She has been drawing since she was old enough to hold a pencil and, after being encouraged by her art teacher to pursue a career in illustration, eventually went on to study for a BFA in the art form at the Rhode Island School of Design. There, she discovered the storytelling properties of illustration which are integral to her work today.

Julie combines traditional and digital illustration methods to create captivating artwork for clients including The New York Times, NPR, PLANSPONSOR, BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network.
