Artist-Brand Partnership
“Hi! I hope you enjoyed the course content and absorbed the concepts and ideas we have explored throughout the lessons. Above all, I hope the lessons were useful and interesting for your personal and artistic development. I tried to share my experience, approach, methodology, and workflow to achieve successful partnerships with artists and brands. But before saying my final goodbye, I would like to go over some important steps that you should keep in mind before starting your final project. I started the course by showing you some examples of successful partnerships between brands and artists. I think it is important to revisit those references and understand how this kind of collaboration has evolved within the internet space. I highly recommend that you research and keep in mind the good examples, but also the ones that failed. Try to understand why they did not work to avoid repeating the same mistakes. And don't forget to share those examples on the forum, so your colleagues can learn as well. Then, I talked about the brand and the artist's perspectives and went over some important aspects that you should consider when establishing a bond. Taking into account each side's needs, it is critical to managing your expectations to achieve a good compromise. Keep that in mind when studying the brand that you are planning to work with. We then dove into a success story to see how you can find a balance between being creative and authentic and working with top brands. I hope you can take advantage of the contribution of Jonathan Calugi as he was inspiring for the course. I’m pretty sure that you might know other stories of artists who managed to work with big brands without losing their values. Share in the forum so we can all learn from good examples. I also introduced you to Sara Steege and, together, we learned her steps to work with different brands. I hope this exercise opened up new ideas to help you develop your own strategy to reach and collaborate with a brand that you really like. Now I am looking forward to seeing how you designed your own roadmap. For that, you will need to define your main goal, identify your targets, analyze the pro & cons, design a plan of action, and, finally, set some milestones to measure your results. To organize the portfolio, I also showed you some good examples and gave tips that you may find helpful to present, publish and get more visibility to your personal and professional projects. As part of your final always create a static or animated image for Canal180 Television bumpers. It’s a great way to start or get more visibility for your work! Before wrapping up, I shared some tips on how to build a network and start growing your own. I also mentioned some ways to approach brands in a professional and e way. Don’t forget to share other networking platforms and ideas in the forum to enrich this debate. Throughout the course, I highlighted the importance of balancing personal work with branded work. Remember: brands are looking for authenticity and fresh perspectives and they will approach you because of your uniqueness. My last piece of advice is: Don't be afraid to meet new people online and offline. Believe in chances but work hard to create new opportunities. And above all, be prepared to present your work with confidence when an opportunity comes. I wish you the best of luck in this new venture! I will see you on the forum. ”
