“Water! I've shown you how to find patterns and connections in a mind map. In this lesson, we'll look at watercolor and gouache and how adding water can change the effects. First, I'll show you how watercolor looks on dry paper and the texture it has. I will use black, it's easiest to see. Adding watercolor onto dry paper has a completely different texture than adding watercolor to wet paper. You can make a wet spot like this. Kayla has illustrated several books, including an interactive board book she wrote, Friends at the Firehouse, and her work has appeared in magazines and on posters. As well as this, Kayla sells her art prints online. Inspired by fellow illustrators, graphic designers and other creatives in her area, Kayla co-founded a working studio The Warren in Nashville, home to workshops, gallery shows, and other community events.
