Laura Varsky
A course by Laura Varsky
Although Laura Varsky graduated as a graphic designer at the University of Buenos Aires, her interest in the development of different graphic languages and the search for her own one have brought her closer to the world of illustration, a field in which she has achieved several distinctions.
She has participated in several artistic and commercial projects, specializing in the design of albums and books. In 2006 she was awarded the Latin Grammy Award as Art Director, an award for which she was also nominated in 2014 and 2015. She has also worked in the licensing field for both local and international brands.
For more than 10 years she has been a teacher in the subject of Typography at the University of Buenos Aires and has published two typographic families based on her lettering work: Lady René and Lady Dodó, together with the Sudtipos foundry.
She is the author and co-author of several illustrated books and her work is part of the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. Currently, she gives lectures and workshops in various countries.
