“[Music] Although this workshop is basically digital design of patterns and that is what we are going to do. I am interested in understand a little what the basic operation of a module is of repetition and that they know how to do it. Although the processes of assembled after they are digital, understand it from the process manual always helps us to mentally know what we are we will face. So in this unit we are going to work on manual design. Let's draw on one of our leaves white. I am starting from an A4 sheet. As later I know that I'm going to need to scan it and mine is an A4 size scanner...”

Although Laura Varsky graduated as a graphic designer at the University of Buenos Aires, her interest in the development of different graphic languages and the search for her own one have brought her closer to the world of illustration, a field in which she has achieved several distinctions.
She has participated in several artistic and commercial projects, specializing in the design of albums and books. In 2006 she was awarded the Latin Grammy Award as Art Director, an award for which she was also nominated in 2014 and 2015. She has also worked in the licensing field for both local and international brands.
For more than 10 years she has been a teacher in the subject of Typography at the University of Buenos Aires and has published two typographic families based on her lettering work: Lady René and Lady Dodó, together with the Sudtipos foundry.
She is the author and co-author of several illustrated books and her work is part of the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. Currently, she gives lectures and workshops in various countries.
