“Preparations and Composition Last lesson we had fun painting the eye. It was the last of a series of lessons that took us to our final project. If you remember, we started representing a sphere, that way, we discovered the importance of using tonal values in order to represent reality onto a two-dimensional surface. We also painted the skull in monochrome in order to find these lights and shadows that we need to use in order to guide us through the process of representing our portrait.
