“Music in Storytelling Now we can see that you could score a film brilliantly only using pre-existing music. "Pulp Fiction" from Quentin Tarantino or "2001: A Space Odyssey" have no original score, but we tend to write music for films because it gives more creative control, we create our tone of voice specific to the film, more creative, detailed control for the director and the musicians involved. It allows us to create this sonic underscore that we can sew completely and accurately underneath the story. This allows us to understand why certain genres of music have become so popular in film...”
