“Influences In this lesson, I'd like to share some moments, and videos, and music, and ideas that have influenced me along the way as I've developed as a musician. From my classical background, my first love was the piano and I spent a lot of time there. If I think of all the things I tried to learn, one of the weirdest, most complex and interesting was a piece by a composer called Ligeti. It's just light, colour, texture, and rhythm, and strange contrapuntal syncopations unlike anything I'd ever played before. The harmony blew my head.
