About the final project for: Introduction to Designing with Letters

Typography Essentials for Design

“Thank you for sharing this time and space with me, I do hope you found this useful and you feel ready to create great work. I invite you to do this process at least one more time after doing it here with me, this will solidify the knowledge and help you have ownership of the process. Remember that our handwriting is the most humble and human expression, our first interaction with the written word and how we can use it to start designing. Now, it's time to implement everything you have learned in my course and create your own design. Let's recap the process you should follow for your final project. Start with the practical work on paper and pencil - trying different compositions and learning how to use hierarchy to make typographic decisions.

Once you have come up with a composition and a message you like, make a sketch of it.
Finally, translate the work to the digital space, curate, dissect it and start applying color to the composition. Then, add values, hues and special effects to bring depth and dimension to the piece.
I can't wait to see your creation. Please share it with the community, including images of the process and a brief text describing the steps you took. I truly believe this method is functional and can be applied to any other design piece, maybe you can use this class as reference and observe your previous pieces to keep developing them further. This was truly a pleasure and I look forward to seeing all the work you’ll create. Share it and join the community in this forum. Keep others inspired and be inspired by others' work. I’ll keep an eye on this platform and try my best to give you feedback. I’m always open to keep exchanging information. See you soon! ”
