“Painting Techniques There are two basic ways that you can blend colours in acrylic. Unlike other paint, which is very slow drying, where you can work a lot wet into wet, acrylic dries so quickly the opportunities of working wet into wet are less. But you can mix colours to some extent that way. When you've just applied the colour it will be wet for a few seconds. So if you add, for instance, an area of mid-tone here and you want to add some lighter tone next to it, you should be able to blend it in a little bit. A more useful technique with acrylic for graduating from one colour to another ...”
