“The Fundamentals of the Face Now we've learned the fundamentals of color theory, I can start showing you how to create a face using the correct proportions. I developed one of my thumbnail sketches further. You can see right here I added some color. I added the floral motif to it that I wanna use and the composition is where I want it. Now I'm going to use this as inspiration to start sketching my face. This image over here was inspired by that thumbnail sketch I showed you. We can start all of our portraits by drawing a circle.
