“I will follow the drawing with the color painting and highlights. Pay attention to the shadows and lights. I will use mostly my three primary colors and play with contrasts of complementary colors and warm and cold values. Once I am done with watercolor, I usually apply some color pencils over it to get brighter tones. Finally, I use a white gelly roll for some outlines. It provides a deepness to the illustration, as it separates the grounds.”
