“Blocking in Color. Now that we've covered mixing flesh tones, in this lesson, I'm going to explain to you the concept of blocking in color. I used to take photos from magazines and I used to take a pen or a pencil, and I liked outlining around the different shapes that I can find. Now these were shapes that were differentiated by values and color, and little did I know that this was an excellent exercise for seeing values and shapes in photos for doing portrait painting.
