“Influences In this lesson, I'll tell you about my influences. First, I'm going to tell you a bit about John Singer Sargent. John Singer Sargent was a painter from the 19th and early-20th century. He was a master of the "alla prima" painting style, where you paint the subject directly from fresh brush strokes. When standing close to the painting, you can see all of the strokes that were used to make up the painting, but as you back away, it all integrates very nicely and looks highly realistic. It's this juxtaposition between the brush strokes, which lets you see the process from the painter...”
