Draw Yourself: When Marco Mazzoni Drew to Prove He Wasn’t Lying
Famous Italian illustrator Marco Mazzoni recalls his childhood and discusses his fears and dreams in this Draw Yourself
Famous Italian illustrator Marco Mazzoni’s (@marcomazzoniart) work hangs in galleries and museums. He has legions of social media fans and a very successful career. And he told mountains of fibs as a boy...
One day, he told his mother that he’d seen a frog. So she asked him to draw a picture of it to check he wasn’t lying. Her request led to the birth of a single-minded artist. Never since has he been separated from his pencils, paints and all the other materials he uses to create dreamy, surrealist, work.
This installment in the Draw Yourself series was an opportunity for Marco to go back over this and many other childhood memories that shaped his work. Discover more in his video.
