Establishing different strategies and conducting studies to improve the marketability of a product are practices that have been going on for years: they can include creating the image of a brand, deciding the most appropriate way to sell products, and looking for spaces to publicize them. In recent years, however, a new discipline has sprung up that is changing the traditional paradigm: digital marketing.

Currently, digital marketing is the fastest-growing form of marketing. In 2017, companies worldwide invested more in digital marketing than in the traditional channels of tv, radio, and print.

What is digital marketing?

As the name suggests, digital marketing is created on digital platforms, mainly the internet. The most significant advantage over more traditional channels, such as TV and radio, is the ability to measure and segment advertising campaigns.

For example, on a traditional channel, such as television, a general campaign is created for a whole audience, and all consumers watch the same message.
On platforms like Facebook, we are now able to select users and the type of advert they will watch, depending on their preferences and visited pages history.

Why is digital marketing so useful?

Digital marketing is revolutionary in that it enables small companies and individuals to realize marketing campaigns without the need to invest large sums, as was the case with traditional platforms. Digital marketing has made it possible for small brands to appear alongside well-established giants.
