Tips for reviewing the structure of a template in Canva

When we are going to start designing a template for a presentation it is very important to create a structure sketch before designing, so you can get an idea of what you want to create and your template or presentation will be solid and effective. Here I share with you some tips to review and improve the structure of your template:

Do some pre-planning:
Before you start designing, define the objectives of your presentation, identify the key information and images you need to include and visualize how you want the presentation to flow.

About the front and back cover:
First impressions are crucial so you need to make sure your template includes an attractive front cover that captures attention. Opt for covers that contain only the necessary information such as title, logos and who you are targeting. Create a back cover that reinforces the main message and provides additional information such as contact details.

Dividers are visual breaks:
To help your audience navigate your document more smoothly and not overwhelm with too much information, use slides we call them dividers. They are slides that usually contain the subtitle of the information you will present next and serve to change your mind.

Organize the information in a creative way:
Avoid using large blocks of text and opt better to divide the information into smaller sections using columns or short paragraphs. This makes it easier to read and understand the content.

Avoid using bullets and use icons instead:
One of the most common ways to structure ideas is by creating bulletpoints but they can become repetitive and boring. To add a more interesting visual touch to your lists, consider using custom icons instead of bulletpoints. Icons help give your document personality and maintain consistency with your brand identity.
