Sculpting Dreams in 3D: A Journey Inspired by Nature

My name is Sasha Vinogradova, I am a digital artist, art director and Domestika teacher.

And today I wanted to talk to you about art and the creative process.

Have you ever thought about what art really is? To me, it's a way of communicating — a way to express what I find important and inspiring. It's a message, even if no one's there to hear it. It's like a quiet chat with the universe, trying to convey something important. And because art is a message, it stirs up feelings and creativity in people.

This unspoken conversation is beautiful, global, and timeless.

To be a good artist, you need to tune in to what inspires you, what makes you feel big, what makes you want to share yourself. It's not easy in a world that's always fighting for your attention, but as an artist, it's your job to sift through the noise and figure out what matters to you.

For me, nature is the biggest inspiration. I grew up playing outside on my grandma's farm during the summers. I also went to art school, where we had classes outside, just soaking in nature and trying to capture it in our own way. Nature has this amazing variety, patterns, and character. It's fascinating to bring that to life.

Now, let's delve into the creative process.

Imagine you've found your inspiration, your message, and your subject. The next step is to translate all that into a piece of art using your skills and tools. There are a lot of creative visual tools to pick from. I usually start with a simple sketch to get the feel of what I want.

For the final visualization, I prefer 3D as my medium. I love the photorealistic look you can achieve and the whole process of 3D creation. It goes beyond just a still image. You can make animations or even 3D print your creation and bring it to life.

Now, I understand, diving into 3D software can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you're just starting out. Personally, I like using Zbrush for sculpting my 3D models — it takes a bit to get used to it, but it's incredibly satisfying once you do. And for rendering, I prefer Cinema 4D. It's user-friendly and makes your creation look amazing.

So, there you have it — a peek into how I see art and my creative process. Art is a conversation — discover your message through inspiration and find the right tools that allow you to express yourself. And consider exploring 3D software — it can take your art to a whole new level.

And if you share my passion for the beauty of nature and 3D, I'd love for you to join me in my Domestika course, "3D Jewel-like Designs Inspired by Nature." In this course, I'll reveal the secrets of my creative process, and together, we'll explore the magic of art to touch hearts and make a lasting impression. I'm thrilled at the thought of you joining me on this creative journey.

Best regards,

Sasha Vinogradova
