10 Projects Celebrating Pride in 2023

To celebrate Pride Month, we have compiled our top 10 works of art from the Domestika community.
Art is a powerful tool for personal expression and during Pride Month, the opportunity to see self-expression and sharing artistic ideas that explore gender and sexual diversity through painting, illustration, photography, video and more is a wonderful opportunity.
As Pride Month comes to a close, we wanted to share this inspiring list of 10 works of art recently created by our wonderful community of Domestika students and teachers that celebrate LGBTQIA+ communities.

3. Artistic photographic self-portrait: Pride month by Lucas Waidelich
Created as part of a project for Domestika, photographer Lucas Waidelich loves being able to express himself through the self-portrait, from being able to tell experiences to also symbolizing collective struggles. For this reason, in the month of pride Lucas decided “to create this self-portrait in demonstration of the struggle that the entire movement entails, beyond a flag (which has a strong identity weight), making it clear that not everything is rosy, where coexist so many years of fighting against bullying, violence and injustice, which are often not measured. However, it is important not to stop recognizing and celebrating your own identity, to celebrate all the progress that could be achieved. Let no one tell you how to be or how to be in this world.”

Fascinated by imaginary worlds, creatures and animals, Jonas Jödicke is a digital fantasy artist from Berlin and teacher for Domestika who created this artwork as a commission for DeviantArt celebrating Pride Month.
