Vivian Maier is a photographer I mention in my course as one of my influences. She shot a lot of self-portraits and has compiled a collection of these in her book Self-Portraits.

No list of self-portrait photography would be complete without Cindy Sherman. Working in photography since the late-1970s, she acts as a chameleon in her own work, disguising herself as an ever-changing range of characters.

Here I have linked the photographer Delfina Carmona's Instagram. She shoots very creative and colorful self-portraits in her apartment, using everyday objects as props. She is great at playing with both natural lighting, especially bright sunlight, and artificial lighting from all kinds of lamps.

Liu shoots beautiful and delicate self-portraits. She does self-portraits in a very unique way where you never really get to see her face. In her photos, she plays with layers by using fabrics, semi-transparent backgrounds and mirrors, as well as objects with interesting shapes. I just love the way she captures specific moods in her work.

A great photographer whose work is very unique and surreal. She creates compositions that blend the ordinary with the uncanny and is inspired by the subconscious mind and its relation to our emotions and perceptions.

Zank is also a photographer that does experimental and conceptual photography. He captures surreal photos of himself and models in bizarre situations, and he uses the streets, construction sites and nature as his locations. The way he combines lines, geometry, the human body, nature and color is very fascinating and inspiring.

An amazing storyteller that uses her self-portraits to tell her stories. Her work is very dreamlike and set in fantasy worlds with a sense of romantic beauty.
