the teacher is clever, and lessons interesting, but I do prefer …. watercolour!

I enjoyed this course immensely. Very well structured. I inherited some soft pastels from a commercial artist. I typically paint portraits in oils. But after following chris’s course, I found using pastels to be so spontaneous and enjoyable. I’ve been able to finish portraits in pastels in a fraction of the time it takes me in oils. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to be spontaneous and expressive in their art. Thank you Chris and Domestika for another excellent course.

Me gusta la técnica y los trabajos de Chris Gambrell. Eso fue lo que me decidió a elegirlo.
Sin embargo sólo desarrolla un retrato, centrándose más en el dibujo previo que en la técnica del pastel.
Esperaba más del curso.

This was a bit different from my expectations.

This was my first Domestika class. I was shocked by the wealth of secrets and tips contained in Chris' class. In fact, this class contained color wheel knowledge I didn't expect, have never understood until now and I was never lost as I usually am in color wheel lessons. There are now so many courses that I want to take from Domestika, a company that does its homework when selecting teachers. Bravo Chris! Bravo Domestika!

Fun and interesting course. Have always enjoyed seeing Chris's work on his Instagram, was happy to take a course by him.

Un curso super interesante! Me gusta mucho la combinación de colores primarios que utiliza y me parece fácil de seguir.

Chris is great at explaining, and it feels like he's right there. I feel like you can enter this course at different levels and still get something out of it - he has a very accessible way of explaining. The course is a straightforward way of using pastels that at the same time, introduces us to important principles of portraiture and pastels so we can build on them. I wish we covered a bit on different skin colours, just for fun, or had a couple more examples. Great course, I recommend.

Llamaron mi atención sus retratos tan expresivos y frescos. No me gusta el pastel relamido. El curso está bien estructurado y muestra claramente la técnica utilizada. Buenos consejos.
