Definitely worth exploring. Lots of good advice on shading and figures. I had a good time and I was proud with my results and only have the instructor to thank for that.

A very interesting course for those who want to know more about contrasts, light and shadow. The monochromatic exercises are very good for learning about tonal values.

Marcus does a great job of explaining his step-by-step process for creating expressive watercolor portraits of human figures. It is not a traditional figure-drawing class, if that's what your looking for, but more of a tutorial on how to capture the light and emotion of a human figure in an abstract way. I am new to drawing and painting humans, but I enjoyed the course immensely.

I thought I'd learn litteraly to sketch people with watercolour, as I do from time to time: painting in situ, from observation. Nevertheless it was a pleasure to watch Marcus painting.

Marcus made the study of the human body fun and enlightening, his less is more approach to colour, is what gives his work its uniqueness. I really enjoyed following his teachings.

Je pensais vraiment apprendre à dessiner et peindre des personnages, pour illustrer une aquarelle, et non une personne en entier. Je trouve que ce cours porte mal son titre. On n’apprend pas à dessiner des personnages. On prend une photo, on Photoshop et on peint uniquement un personnage. Je suis déçue.

He did a very detailed and clear presentation. His instruction from reference photo to sketch, monochromatic presentation then color was a very helpful way to present the material. Without realizing it he was covering the same points 4 different ways!

Excellent artist and watercolorist, I loved the course, it goes from the materials, to painting and Photoshop treatment. I do recommend it. :)
