Photogrammetry is simpler than its name would lead you to believe; it involves the science of measuring from photographs. Additionally, 3D photogrammetry is a special process that converts images into 3D models using a scan so they can be used in video games, VFX, and other audiovisual productions.
In this online course, step into the world of 3D photogrammetry with David Chumilla, a 3D artist who has experience working on video games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Forza Horizon 3, and The Walking Dead.

Get started by learning more about David, his career, and the influences that have shaped his work as an artist.
Then, discover the theory and fundamentals of 3D photogrammetry, choose an object to scan, and follow the necessary preparation and pre-production steps for your final project.
Once you've mastered the basics, see what a photogrammetry session is like, focusing on how to approach the process of capturing a real object with your camera. David then guides you through the digital part of the process, showing you how to clean up and correct your photos in Adobe Photoshop.
Lastly, see the entire 3D model reconstruction process in Agisoft before your teacher explains some very useful post-production techniques to present your work in the most colorful and hyperrealistic way possible.
What is this course's project?
Photograph a large object of your choosing and reconstruct it in 3D, applying the different techniques and processes learned throughout the course.
